A roof everyone walks under
This canopy runs the full length of the building on East 6th Street, right over the sidewalk. That makes it the most visible roof on the property, and the one guests walk under every day.
What we did
We tore the old canopy roof off down to the deck. Then we:
- Built new framing and fascia along the street edge
- Laid 3.5” insulation board
- Installed a white tapered TPO membrane, so water runs off instead of sitting
- Finished the edge with paint-grip drip edge
Finished to match
Paint-grip drip edge is made to take paint. We painted it and the new fascia Benjamin Moore Essex Green (HC-188), which gives the white brick facade one crisp line of color along its whole length.
From the street, that green line is all you see. The white membrane above reflects the Texas sun back instead of soaking it in.
